March 20th 2013 saw my fifteen minutes of fame on BBC Radio 2’s Popmaster music quiz with Ken Bruce. As it was my birthday, after years of contemplating, I thought I would phone in and try my luck! Before I knew it I was on air for the first round speaking to the great man himself! After scoring a respectable 24 points, it resulted in a tie with a salesman on the second round – this was nail-biting stuff! I just about won the tiebreak round and cleared the 3-in-10 where I had to name three hit singles from a random artist or group. Luckily for me, it was Pulp, one of my favourite groups of the 90s! I reeled off three hits inside 2 seconds and I’m now the proud owner of the special edition Popmaster DAB digital radio!
